Default Jack Stowage

Had a blow-out yesterday. Just got a new tire put on and all is well, however I need to replace the jack/winch. Can't seem to replace them perfectly. Anyone have a pic/directions for how they should fit perfectly back in the boot?

Cheers,

On second thoughts, this doesn't seem right. The winch does not want to fit. How does it attach? Thanks

HA, thanks Lou!

Seriously, all the bags and original tags are there, so its nice having an original, tip-top factory boot. Silly maybe....but I'd like it to stay as it should!

I always have trouble getting the passenger's side end of the jack to get close enough to the stud to get the black plastic **** on...always have to seem to force it, even when playing with the height of the jack to help with the angle. Doesn't seem right.

Thanks gents. I have mine positioned as in the picture, but it doesn't 'clip' or attach to anything...is that right?

That plastic piece looks like it's more to provide a barrier between the battery cables and the jack, and it's not so much to act as a bracket to hold it in place

I think you're looking for the black **** on the end.

Porsche Nut
Item: 999.043.002.00

I noticed in my car I have the stud it screws onto but not the actual nut. Thats what holds it in place.....I believe.

Replacing the jack is not a very intuitive process. The base of the jack goes toward the front of the car but on a slight angle (a bit above being perpendicular to the ground). The butterfly-shaped end (below the number '8' in the pic posted by paa502) is on the passenger's side and the hole in the middle slips over the stud and is then secured with the black ****. The black plastic cover on the driver's side does little to help secure the jack but helps somewhat. One end of the jack handle then slides behind the cover. Once you have the spare in place there is little chance of the jack becoming dislodged.

A little off-topic, but does anyone know where the wheel-wrench goes?

The part number is 964.611.212.00. Pelican lists the price at $5.75 which seems too cheap for anything Porsche. The cover is secured with four plastic nuts.
