Default Claudia Arrives Home in Bugtussle!!

Thanks to Steve Weiner and Jeff Gamroth of Rothsport, the car is buttoned up and Phase One is complete. The trucker dropped her off here in Bugtussle at 11:45, by 11:50 we were on the road.

The regeared tranny is amazing, LWF what it should be, suspension all I could currently ask for, and the brakes, well, what can I say...they did not get much of a workout.

Without furthur ado, obligatory pics follow:

The mods are numerous and virtually complete, from gearbox, through the flywheel and clutch, brakes, suspension and many bits and pieces throughout.

I absolutely love the car; she does what she is asked to do with grace and urgency, pushes just a bit, but responds very well to the throttle and snarls with a glee.

Off to the track on Friday, full report to follow!!!

Recaro Speeds w/ the optional slot for the six point belts.

Autothority chip was left in the car. Jeff considers it "acceptable" (the Weiner Rennsport chip is better) and left it in as we are redoing the engine soonish anyway.

Very nice.

Assuming you have the stock 3.333 R&P, what are your new gear ratio's ?

1st - 3.50 (stock), 43mph (12/42)
2d - 2.25, 66mph, (16/36)
3d - 1.684, 89 mph (19/32)
4th - 1.286, 117 mph, (21/27)
5th - 1.04, 145 mph, 25/26)

And yes, the R/P remain 3.333

Speeds are calculated with smaller diameter 17" - I'm actually running 18's so they come up a bit. The gearbox is fantastic, never missing a sweet spot and downshifting is an absolute no-brainer, blip and yer there already with the LWF.

Very nice, the stance is excellent!

Would you be willing to share some details on your steering wheel hub/quick release? It looks like it doesn't push the wheel back further than just a hub?

TIA

The parts are straight stock Rothsport quick release and adaptor. Jeff's design and in house milling; top quality item and a joy to use (click on/click off, very positive).

The entire assy moves the wheel forward (plus the dish in the cup wheel) to a perfect position for me. Here's a better image of proportion.

I'm beyond thrilled, thanks Chris. Those are the Jongbloed racing wheels Ryan made up for me (8.5" and 9.5" in 18s). A set of Fikse FM=5s is being built to those exact specs so Claudia can have nice "street shoes".

After a 25 year break from training and HP driving, I'm a bit rusty, but also very pleased that many things seem right at hand. My hands are a bit sloppy, and the brakes are way ahead of me (braking way way too early), but the mechanics are still there and I seem to be able to pitch the car with relative ease (this is probably because I'm braking too early and accelerating into most corners, so I can lift off, turn the car and rattle home).

The gearbox is just amazing in its flexibility.

Wow, fantastic car! Love the RSAs and that one has all the shortcomings addresed. Is it new to you? You couldn't have picked a better shop to work on it.

The car is new to me. I picked it up from Sid C. in February; it has 45K miles and has never been driven in anger.

Her life is changing and I think she likes it!

Jeffie threw an aggressive alignment on the car, corner balanced and weighs in at 2760 with 1/3 tank.
