Talking 93 RSA Introduction

Did my first post today to joined in the "group buy" for the rear tail lights...thanks to PAA502 for the help.

I've read thousands of posts since joining the Forum in late January...you all have helped me narrow my search to a 964.

This is my first Porsche...always loved German cars...currently have a 2006 BMW 330i (my daily driver) and 2010 MB-350 (the wife's)...now the 93 RSA as a weekend driver and occasional drive to work.

I originally sought a 997 but it didn't do much for me...then turned my search to late 80ies P-car but as we all know, well sorted cars are hard to find. In Feb, I saw Sid's red RSA on Ebay (eventually bought by KAIB). After studying RSA.net and reading this forum, I turned my attention to 964s. I drove my first 964, a yellow 964 turbo...pretty nice, pulled great...excellent, but it was yellow. At any rate, I got the 964 bug, and my search narrowed to a white or silver 964.

Found the car on craigslist...located in LA. It's a two owner..now with 55K miles ...the first owner had it until 2008 in NY, then a gent in LA purchased it with 49K miles. Car has three of the four options from the factory...top of the line Alpine Deck, separate amp and Boston Speakers was installed by original owner. I got the RSA with 53K miles in March. It is a totally stock, unmolested car.

So, here's the pics...the first two are pre-suspension work and the next two shows the results of the PSS-10 install.

My goal for the RSA is to restore it to a driver--just short of a concourse car. I just need a Wong chip (going with 91 octane) and the rear tail-lights to set it up like I want it.

Here's what I've done to the car since I got it:

Complete top to bottom inspection by Lufteknic here in Richmond...had a successful PPI in LA, but wanted a more detailed inspection...passed with flying colors...no accidents....no rust...just a clean car!

Installed H-4 headlights
Totally new Suspension...stock parts except for the PSS-10 (I'll wait bait on the RS sways).
Cup Pipe...Primary By-pass...powder coated the stock tailpipe
New Michelin PS2 Tires
Stock Rims Reconditioned by Wheel Enhancement in LA
New Door Pulls from ApBiz
New Alpine Deck...(the '93 version was dead)
Fixed Smile
Fixed Sunroof Sagging Fabric
Changed all Fluids...Mobil One...Trans and Crankcase...Brake fluid too...
Changed Rotors and Pads...when OEM...

Talk with Steve Wong today on the phone...he recommended the 91 octane chip since its so damn hot in VA...should be here soon...https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Wonderful car!!!

Thx guys...

KaiB...thx for the comment on the stance...it's near euro rs height. I understand you're getting PSS10's too. Fyi...I had mine set at 1...the softest setting...felt just a little softer than the stock setup...changed them to 5...quite a difference...solid on the curves, just right for hwy cruising, but too harsh for the washboard streets of downtown richmond...backed off to 3...appears to be a good, all around setting for the street.

Neat Phil. (I'm from Fauquier County; Hume...please kiss the ground in Va for me).

Mid month I'm off to skidpad training and then a long course AX. Steve W. wants the shocks at 6f and 8r (for AX) to help with a bit of toss in the front. A typical track setting would allow a difference of one in most cases, I'm told, but will have to play with mine to see.

This winter contact Stevie about a re-gear (yes, I'm pimping the mod!!!)

Sweet car you have...now we just need to train up to stay on Chris' bumper.
