Default Bilstein HD + H&R Springs or KW V3?

Hi everyone,

What are the pros and cons for each of these set ups? The KW V3's are more expensive and I know that they are adjustable which, but I would like to know if they're really worth the extra $$$!

I'd be using it for street driving with no track time.

Thanks!

IMHO KVs would be way overkill for you application.

Bilstein and H&Rs

I have KWV3 and they are unbelievably great, in all conditions.

They are expensive - the quality reflects the price.

However I would agree for everyday driving the Bilstein and H&R set up is more than sufficient.

All depends on how much track time your car will see...

Bilstein + H&R are very capable even for light track use. V3 are great but overkill for a street application. You could go with the V1, nice compromise and available for your 91 C2.

I have owned both V3's and now V1's and I really like KW. The V1's are really nicely set up for a street car and totally fit the bill for my 964.

Iam on billys with eibach springs, cant fault it for normal use.
Soaks up ruff country lanes no probs, a tad soft for track use.

I'm running Bil+H&R greens. It is drastically better than the worn out stock bits, but I can often find it harsh in pothole-laden city driving. The spring rates for the KW V3 are lower than the H&Rs which make me wonder if they would eat up bad roads better. It would be nice having the adjustability to firm up for events too.

Thanks guys!

I think I'm leaning towards the Billys... I found them here for 995 Euros which is way cheaper than the KWs.

Shop around for prices on V1's. I got them from under $1600 delivered.

KWV3 period! Ran me an extra $1,000 over the Bil/H&R set-up. Same installation, same everything. For an extra G, well worth it. Trust me, you will absolutely love them.

Hi Andy,

I hope life is treating you well.

If you are going to go with the Billys or Konis make sure you go with the H&R reds and bear in mind that alignment and sway bars make a big difference as well - worth doing right away IMHO. I have Koni sports, H&R reds and H&R sways and am very happy with the results considering the cost. If the car is a keeper though and you plan in the future to spend some time on the track I would go with the V3's.

GL and let me know next time you're in the area, send my best to the family.

And V1's would only be a tiny bit more
