Steering wheel replacement DIY changes

I just followed the steering wheel replacement DIY and have a couple of observations. I can't reply to a DIY, so if worthy, maybe the moderators can add something to it.
1. The socket I used to remove the wheel is a 24 mm, the same one I use to turn the crank when doing valve adjustments. I imagine the 15/16 would work, but my socket set doesn't have that size. Most diy'ers probably have the 24 mm around.
2. Removing the bottom shroud was a bear and I thought I may crack it. What I found was that, when reinstalling, I attached the horn contact ring to the blinker assembly first (while not on the steering shaft), then I assembled the shroud, then slid the whole thing onto the steering shaft. The 8 mm bolt that secures the blinker assembly to the shaft can be tightened via an opening in the bottom of the shroud. This was much easier.
