I picked up a set of 9x16 D 90's (and used my 8's in front) thinking I would use them as my track wheels but once I got them refinished, they have become my "street" wheels and Cup 1's have been relegated to the track. The retro look suits the car, in my opinion.

Another fan of the D-90's. I also went with 9's for the rear and 8's up front.

Did you end up using spacers? I had to use 5mm spacers on the front as the rim protector rubber rubbed slightly on the springs. I am running 225/245's. I know tires differ, I am asking because was a bit surprised.

I found a set of d90 locally if anyone interested. They're $1000 with p zero Nero on. 7in front 8in rear, I'm pretty sure it can be had for less.

Would ship from Vermont.

I am guessing that you are still on stock dia springs.
I switched over to PSS10's to lower the car and tune the suspension. They use the smaller OD springs. I would have rubbed with original springs. I do get a bit of rub at full lock, but that is at very low speed and infrequent.
I have 225/55/16 front and 255/50/16 rear to keep overall dia as close as possible, C4.

Yes, I have HR Reds sport springs, so that makes sense. I was looking high and low for the 225/255 combo but couldn't find anything available. The 245's seem slightly narrow on 9" rims in my opinion.

Got it, I saw them when I was looking but was trying to stay closer to the stock 25" diameter. I guess a 255/45/16 tire doesn't exist.

.....when I ran Hoosiers for years, I ran 225/50-16 (7") and 245/45-16 (8") with good results.

My '91 came with it's original wheels too. I was thinking about changing to cup wheels, but have decided to keep it all stock. I like the retro look.

The D90s weigh less too.

I have 6"&8" D90s in storage, I think the 6x8 configuration was to cure understeer but they look funny to me on a 911 and when they came out went a long way to angering the purists; new shape new wheel were just too much and it has taken all this time for the 964 to find it's fan base. The D90s just weren't butch enough.
What size are your Turbo Twist? 18x10 ET65 in the rear? Are you running spacers?
