car or booster seat

Do a search. This has come up before.
For car seats - Britax Roundabout is an adequate fix. Not sure they make it anymore though.
As for Boosters - it's basically trial and error, Britax had one a few years ago that was a perfect fit, called the Parkway. They've re-released the Parkway but I don't know if the new version will fit. Walmart and Costco sometimes have some that fit. You need to find one with the narrowest base possible.
Good luck in your search.

I've had great success with my two booster seats.
Here's a thread with lots of good info. >> https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...ferrerid=19642
(keep in mind my experience is with a coupe only. I know the rear seat area is different from a coupe (especially the the upper seat back)...but the booster base (of the seats I've used) fit perfectly. I continue to see the same seat, with really nice fabric patterns, at Target.

Here are some pictures of the Cosco. There is a hinged piece in the lower rear of the seat that snaps off to fit snuggly in the rear buckets. I removed the car's lap belts and replaced them with an LATCH mounting point. I also had a bar fabricated and installed behind the rear flip seats. The bar uses the existing bolt holes for the flip seat, plus several others that are already there under the carpet. The holes are not needed/used on a cab. The flip seats are bolted permanently UP. The top LATCH belt of the toddler seat runs behind the flip seat and hooks on to the new bar.
There is no interference with the cab roof operation.

I used the Cosco High-Back Booster Car Seat instead. It's a one piece seat that has very neutral seat bottom angle when installed.

Regardless, I'm glad there are options out there considering most seats are probably designed for wide flat bottom SUV seats!

The car's seat location is indicated by the yellow line.

Great info. for the OP.
Udo, how big is your biggest kid, both height and weight? my daughter is going to be 5 yrs old in June, and she's about 45 lbs, and 44inch tall.
My son turns 8 this weekend, he's approx~ 51 inches and 60 pounds. He has been in this seat since I got the car when he was 4. You should be fine for a while.
(though I have recently modified the base, by cutting out a couple inches...his head was getting too close to the rear window. He only needs a lap booster at this point so I fould it acceptable to cut the seat the way I did: Link>> car seat or booster for a 4-5yr old?)
Cosco - High-Back Booster Car Seat specs:
* Forward-facing car seat 22-40 lbs.
* Belt-positioning booster 40-80 lbs.
* 5-point harness with up-front adjustment
* Removable cup holder
* 2-position shoulder belt guides
* LATCH equipped
* Meets or exceeds Federal Safety Standards
* For children 22-80 lbs. and 34-52 inches
All that said, I really ALSO like the mods Laker did to make his seat fit, looks like the front of the booster sits over (and around) the top front edge of the seat...making it sit snug and nice and low.

This one is now on sale for only $35.... so doesn't make you feel bad if you have trim a little...
Jetta, how is the leg room for your kids? My seat showed up today, and I'm not sure how I'm (6'2") going to drive with a seat behind me..
I like the way you think, but you really also need a "sub/crotch" belt so the kid doesn't "Submarine" out under the 3 pt system.
