Just to keep things simple...how's you're oil level when warned up? At the gauge and the dipstick.

Are you sure it isnt oil burning off that has leaked on you heat exchangers or pipes from a valve cover leak?

Also check the right rear fender well for leaks. I had one of the oil lines begin to leak and it dripped on the heat exchanger. It looked and smelled real bad but in the end, not a big deal to repair.

Is that while driving or stopped on level ground with engine running?

Only stopped!
Level ground, and warm engine.

Still drives fine, proper quick.
No smoke under load.

I had a leaking cam seal where the power steering pump connects to the cam, the oil would drip down onto & into the right side heat exchanger causing some smoke and oil smell behind and also inside the car if you had the heat on. Don't know if that is your problem, but worth looking into.
If you get blue smoke out of the exhaust pipe, it has to come from inside the engine, that is normally not a good sign $$$$.

Power wash the engine the best you can before you take it in. That will give them a clean canvas and make it easier to catch any leaks.

Crossing my fingers for you!

Went today, allmost certain its a valve seal, so it needs a top end re-build.
Its not as bad as i first thought, only a puff of blue on overrun.
Have been told its ok to use, just keep an eye on the oil level.

Better get sum extra shifts in at work

Mine does the same. Oil is a lot cheaper than paying for your Spanner to go on holiday in the Bahamas! Valve guides are what I think is causing mine to smoke a bit too, but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse (95K miles), and only smokes a bit when the engine is very warm from being stuck in traffic.

It may not smoke any worse, but running on worn valve guides is like playing Russian Roulette. The valve guides dissipate heat from the valve stems, and worn guides can result in the stems overheating and (those with weak stomachs look away) ..................
