Inagural Tues Eve Thread-Claudia's New Gear Sets
Tues. eve comes early today. Anyway, work on the farm here at Bugtussle continues (kitchen backsplash goes in and the hops rhizomes go into the ground).
Claudia is partially disassembled out in OR at Rothsport. Today we'll post the first of some of the fun stuff happening to her: The gearing changes - after much thought and dislcussion with Jeff and Steve, she is getting (on top of the LWF/clutch system).
A GT LSD (40%), one of Jeff's billet shifter kits and the following GT gearsets and steel syncros (keep in mind the final drive is a 3.333 (9/30). (G50-05 in a '93 RSA)
First: The stock 3.50 (12/42) (43mph)
Second: 2.25 (16/36) (66mph)
Third: 1.684 (19/32) (89mph)
Fourth: 1.286 (21/27) (117mph)
Fifth: 1.04 (25/26) (145mph)
Speeds in each gear are the function of tire size, of course, and she has two sets of wheels: 17" Fikse FM-10s in 7.5" and 9" and 18" Jongbloeds in 8" and 9.5".
As our good friend Bugs Bunny would say..."hey, this promises to be fun!!!"

Wow great upgrade!
I did 3,4,5 in my '93rsa and it made a significant improvement in driveability on the street and track. Unfortunately I lost the paperwork on what gear-sets I had installed. 5th is good for 148mph
Where did you source the gearset?? Cost??
'93rsa 3.8

Jeff G. at Rothsport is doing the changes, they are Guard Trans. gears. Cost I ain't sayin' and honestly don't yet know as we are doing an entire raft of mods; all done right and all at the same time... it won't be quite the same car it was when it arrived.
She should accelerate, slow, turn and accelerate again with eagerness when we're done though.
Stay tuned for the Tuesday threads.
