Default lug bolt "covers" ? any experience?

I saw on ebay where there are lug bolt covers to change the color of your lugs. I have polished silver end ones, but would like them all to be black, like the locks are. But a set of lugs is $200!!! Anyone have experience with these "covers"? Do they fall off, can they be taken off to remove the lugs, etc? Or, if anyone would like to swap good used black for my polished.....

Paint it...Black

Clean them, use adhesion promoter, paint with Bumper Coating or similar paint and then clear coat

Voila Black Lugs..

Just did my Kids Range Rover Lugs yesterday, took about three hours total , He is in Florida on Spruing Break and I am in the driveway working on his ride...nice life (for me!)

Use them on my DD Saab;look fine, work okay, $11.00. IMO, don't seem p-car appropriate.

I suggest you check the ad closer, they are for lug BOLTS, 964's use cap nuts. I'm not sure that they would even fit.

Contacted the seller, he is very helpful, the caps apparently are short, which works good for the bolts on the later cars, not so good for our cars< even though they are listed for 964, 993, etc> in which I informed him that Porsche didn't use bolts until 996, 986 models I believe. Anyway, he has sets of black nuts that he will sell me for $100, so I may go that route and put mine up for sale. I thought about painting, but thought it would look really bad if one got scratched while removing or installing them. Mine are polished/chromed on the end only. At some point I may do black centered wheels, so I need this eventually.

be careful of after market bolts. Some have a different shape base that doesnt sit exactly right in a Porsche wheel. I looked at new bolts before and Vertex had pretty good prices on nuts.
