After having the outside of my 964 restored last year with a nice bare metal respray, it is time to head indoors and fix up the interior. 20 years of wear has not been too kind, so I am replacing the carpet this weekend and I'm now wondering about the seats, should I get them re-upholstered (currently original leather).

Who has gone down this path and are you happy with the results? Did you have to re-pad the seats or fix internals springs, etc?

I was thinking about getting the seats redone in a more modern "matt" finish black leather, rather the the current gloss black leather. Any thoughts?

Have you tried leather restoration such as leatherique? leather shouldn't be gloss.

After reading some Leatherique threads, I've come to the conclusion you can fix almost anything leather related without having to re-skin the seats...the foam underneath though?

I haven't heard of anyone changing the foam but i think it would probably be desirable.

You might contact http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/PorscheLeather.html

I think he also can convert your normal seats into sport seats

Thanks all for the feed back, I might try the leatherique first and then if I'm still not 100% happy look at a reskin.

Im in the process of replacing the carpet this weekend, so will post some photos soon.
