Question Rear spoiler issue

My rear spoiler does not go all the way down. It fails to do so by about 1 inch, and is slightly higher on the left side than the right.

I have popped off the cover over the gears & micro switches. When full up or down as far as it goes, it makes full contact with the micro switches that limit travel. In either case, there's "unused" arc on the driven gear arc that's attached to the spoiler, so it is less than apparent why it doesn't seat itself all the way down.

Clues?

Broken spoiler wall. The top (broken) piece is binding up when the spoiler tries to retract. Ask me how I know.

I ended up removing the top piece and the bottom piece is still in place. Now the spoiler retracts the entire way. I have a new (unbroken) piece to install this weekend.

OK, so I had a really good look this time. Yup. Two pieces. The top one about 3/4" wide, the bottom one .... bigger. So there's only supposed to be one piece, eh? Goody. PelicanParts wants $115.50 plus shipping.

Gonna try some duct tape first, then cave in when it fails the first deployment.

Ack! Thanks for the price research, sml. Something I should have done before placing an order.

And when I searched Pelican more carefully, I also found the $71 item ... and sent them some money as well.

Just installed the new piece from Pelican. The DIY instructions on <http://p-car.com/diy/spoilerwall/> are pretty good, but I was unable to snap the top bit into place per the follow-on advice. I undid enough of the grille to get a decent grip on the top bit and it snapped into place very nicely. Then I re-attached the grille, snapped in the bottom bit, then the rubber bit. Got very dirty, used some Bad Words™, and all is now as it should be.
