Default water ingress in rightside footwell.

What is the most likely source of leakage in the right side footwell ?
I am unable to find the ingress.... its only that footwell, rest of the car is bone dry ! (its a 964 C2 1990, steering wheel left)

1. Open the engine compartment, and find the small drain hole to the right of the arrow. (See picture.)

2. Open the sunroof.

3. Pour water in the right groove of the sunroof and verify that the right rear drain is working. You should see water pouring out of the drain hole in the engine compartment.

4. If water is not draining properly, then you've found the problem. See this thread for how to take apart your rear seat. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-1989...-speakers.html

You'll be able to access the drain hole and reconnect the drain tube. You'll need some small fingers, small pliers, or some clamps that you can get at any fishing supply store.

Thanks guys ! I already did the drain holes (both of them) some time ago, the left side had the tube just dangling around and not connected to the rubber grommit, but the right side was OK.
I had a new front window (with new seals) in 2009.
And its only the right footwell, the rear footwell (for midgets) is dry.....

Had the same problem in the same place so another thing to try is the plastic membrane behind the door card. Found it by placing paper between the bottom of the door and the sill then soaking the outside.

Bonnet seal?
If its not doin its job water gets past it into the bulkhead and into the car.

Ive been fighting water ingress since i got my car, ive had a go at every fault there is.

Best way to find it is to strip cars interior till you find it, good luck!

I had the same problem here in LA during the last heavy storms water soaked the passenger side footwell. A major pain because that is where the brain for the factory alarm is and I was only made aware of it when the alarm went off for no reason and would not stop.

So when I went to disconnect the alarm horn in the trunk......the release handle snapped off in my hand. The neighbors were soooooo happy.

My fix was trunk seals.

Did you also check the drains that go down each of the A pillars that are accessed with the sunroof open at the front left and right corners?

after studying PET, I found the two tiny holes left and right front in the slidingroof frame, tried to insert a nylon string but it got stuck somewhere after 60 cm, where does the drain pipe go ?

The drain tube goes down the a-post into the front wings.
With the roof open pour a small amount of water into the roof mech in each corner, this water will drip onto the floor in each arch behind the wheel.
If it dont, then theres your problem!
