Default To bore or not to bore

Okee dokee..this is where im at with my repairs on my 91 C2 cab. studs are free from the block and picking up both block and second set of heads tomorrow from the machine shop. car has high mileage engine and have considered at this point and juncture to replace also the crank bearings. all ive read in bruces book it concerns itself with align boring the magnesium case due to warpage/time. very little is said concering the later aluminum cases such as the ones i believe are in our cars.

So due to lack of info that I could find, but have looked for, and barring any odd circumstance, does the "cracking the case" call for a line bore before re-assembly?
I will search through the forums again and research my texts such as bruces book in the meantime but would like your input not only with the line bore but also with a machinist that is near north carolina that does this as the guy im using says he has never and wouldnt do so in his shop.

As always thanks in advance.
