Well I can make the block connector for you. You would just need to be able to get to the relay carrier to install it.

See there you go again, "relay carrier"? What does an aircraft carrier have to do with seat heat?? Seriously, I hate electronics, I'm a visual type of guy, how much does a block connector go for these days?

John, If you seriously have an aversion to electronics I would suggest just ordering the harnesses from Porsche for the side markers, because you would have to splice wire to the pigtails and attach some spade connectors at the ends. You likely don't have the tools or experience to do this.

I would suggest buying used seats with seat heaters already installed (about $800) as the DIY method is tedious and does require experience with wiring circuits. Those seats have everything installed and only require a hookup to existing harness connector under the seat.

Steve - The seats will need some attention in the not-to-distant future, it is at this time the seat heat will be installed by the folks that will reupholster the seats, as for the turn signals, they will be professionally installed, there's no way I can or could take a saw to my fenders and magically hope the markers look right. I'm doing the leg work for the some of the sub-contractors right now, it always pays to know more about the project before you start talking to people who are going to be doing the work. I can do basic electrical work, I just want to make sure it's right, I don't want to cause a situation that risks damaging a system or my car because I was too cheap to pay someone $50 for their time. This forum helps out a lot, but sometimes you need someone looking over your shoulder in order to ensure success.

Case & Point: Last week I had a contractor that wanted to charge $3,000 to install a tankless water heater, now that may not sound like a lot of money, but when the heater is $1100 delivered with all of the necessary items, does it really cost $1,900 to install a water heater? I'm here to tell you it does not. More to follow on this project later...

John, order Porsche pn 911 612 177 02 ($47), two them. That is the harness you need for the side markers. The side markers are comprised of the lens 4A0 949 101 ($12), bulb holder 161 949 111 ($4) and bulb 999 631 032 90 ($1). Order two of each.

I suggest http://www.gaudinjaguarparts.com/par...?siteid=214626
for the best pricing.

With those parts your installer should have no difficulty.

I would have thought $300 to install the tankless water heater. good luck

Steve - Once again thanks for the great info. I will contact Porsche and order the parts this week - I will take pictures of the project and people can determine if they want to DIY.

The hot water heater thing is upsetting, seriously, $1900.00 to install a hot water heater? It's a 120V system, the plug is already there, I will contact of the engineers at work and see if they have anyone in their hip pocket that wants a side job.

I ran Part Number 911 612 177 02 at that site and it came back blank, I will call them Monday to see if that part number has been superseded.

I drilled down into the 1990-964-Porsche menu and it came up blank. I can see if you just go to the part number search it works much better.

best way is to find the part in the porsche parts diagrams and then enter the part number. Those catalogs are very difficult to find some parts in.

You need the EU not US parts diagrams to find these parts.
