Question Coilovers and late 964's

Will coilovers universally fit all 964's, or do they mount differently at the rear on early and late 964's (in the same way that normal H+R's with Bilstein's fit early and late 964's differently) ?

Pre 91 964 have about 20 mm higher strut tops in the rear and a different alignment of the bolts.
But you can buy topmounts that will fit and make it like a later 964,I know FVD sells them.

I have been looking for this with no luck, you don't happen to have the link handy?

CDOC used to carry them. I think Steve Weiner sells them too I believe. I bought the kit from Jeff at Rothsport to mount 993 PSS9s to my early 964.

I talked to Steve and Jeff a few months ago and they only had kits to mod from 993 pss9's. If there is a cheep and easy solution to run late 964 rears I would love to give Koni FSD's a try.

While that may true I have to wonder. The assorted make up of the strut height difference from the early to late cars and the mounting of any 993 unit whether coil over or damper/spring combo uses the same upper mounting, if the adapter can work with the PSS9 to early 964 I don't really see why the standard setup would not also be able to be modified to fit. I also remember an individual that did a write up a home made adapter for this very type of change on the old 964 UK website http://www.porsche964.co.uk/.

1st, thanks for your response.

When I talked to Steve the cost of modding my 993 pss9s was a good bit of $$$. So I sold them to Rennlister vwVortex123 and was going to pick up a new set of coilovers that fits an early 964. I have had a look at the UK link and if I could buy that adapter for $150 I would. Anything more and FSD's with Greens plus the adapter would start getting very close to the price of KW v3's.
