I suppose I haven't thought about it much. Dunno about "proudly" advertising. Most people who see the car have no idea as to who the surround refers.

No, it's not. BUT - on the other hand, you did contribute about 6 different blues to the thread on blue cars, so that's gotta be a positive for all the blue car fans out there.

From Adrian's book - Special Order 964 paints 1989-94 Blues were far the most numerous

Venetian Blue
Marine Blue
Baltic Blue
Cobalt Blue
Midnight Blue
Horizon Blue
Iris Blue
Lavender Blue
Diamond Blue
+ Amazon and Turquoise metallic are arguably blue
+ Standard Maritime and Riviera Blue

Many of the blues (and other colors) were only available certain years unless you selected PTS, Marine Blue being one of them which was removed from the list in 1990.

Here’s a recent pic of Marine Blue

I agree they were the most ordered although I would put Midnight at the top of that list. I don't believe Iris, lavender or Riviera belong on that list. They weren't introduced until 94 and rarely seen on a 964 but common on the 993. Although Amazon is very blue looking in some light it is actually a green base paint and was very common on the N/A cars as well. Some of the colors were common on some models more than other. many of the colors were never or rarely used on Turbos or the other limited variant WB cars.

Up until recently Lavender blue was rarely of ever seen. Seems to be some coming out of storage lately however another color that really doesn't look like its colors name. I would call it lavender but where the blue is?

next to a cobalt AR 1 of 2 made. Lavender blue is a special color but Blue?

fresh off the boat. In 20 years we never saw one here and suddenly we have several turbos with similar specs out there.

Agree :-) The colour changes a lot depending on light. On cloudy days more greyisch, on sunny days a deep blue.
