How about a "tuned" exhaust?

There's lots of discussion of primary, secondary and cup bypasses but is there a "tuned" exhaust system for our cars? Something that sounds tight and racy (like a 997 GT3) as opposed to just loud and barking?

Tubi too loud. Tried it, since I liked the movies with all silencers and catalyst bypassed. In reality ( I like loud screaming Porsches) this was really to loud. The drone around 3k rpm gives immediate headache.
I tried different set-ups with bypassing primary and secondary silencer, and catalyst. In the end I liked bypassing secondary bypass (g-pipe) and a hollowed catalyst the best. Loud, but no drone. At full throttle real good sound (beast

Interesting question.
There is an art to making tuned exhaust. It has to do with the header pipe length and the sound wave length the engine makes at a desired rpm. Then you equalize it or make it harmonic at the collector and adjust it plus or minus until you have the desired effect you have tuned exhaust system.
The sound a tuned exhaust makes is really a by product.
I don't know if there has been anyone to figue it out, or if it's possible due to the short nature of a 911 header, and different applications are going to different tunning.
However, knowing Porsche they probably had some other scentific formula for a proper exhuast system.

There was someone who had a Fabspeed exhaust on their car that did a video of a little blat around their car park - I think it was on you tube - at least you could hear the sound from outside.

I have the FVD dual tip race exhaust (no cat/no heat exchangers) and I don't think it's all that loud. Sometimes there is a certain RPM spot where it resonates but that's the worse of it. Going through tunnels is an absolute joy though.

There are "tuned" systems that work very well on these cars, however these are intended for competition as they have no provisions for heat & defrost.

I have a Fabspeed RSR equal length header system, with a Y-pipe and one exhaust out in the middle (kind of like on a Boxster). THis sounds like a GT3 Cup car, especially on high rpm. But it's VERY, VERY loud!
