Finally home after so many work related trips. My precious 964 is still up on the lift... transmission issues still there, steering rack leaking badly... depressing seeing my baby ill like that but it will have to wait until the funds $$ are available.

Going to finish the Fiat (carpet install, top install) since I have all the parts at home.

Going to clean and coat the gas tank of the bike (Yamaha). I took it to the shop to get it all setup and they found a few rust spots inside the tank. I don't want to ruin a new carburetor job, so I got some POR15 Gas Tank treatment for it.

Also plan to spend as much time as possible with the children... being used to having me around and now with the travel, they are not taking it well. So working from home as much as I can this week.

Happy Holidays everyone!!

First, sorry about the job loss, tbennett. Know the feeling; 35-year career in newspaper journalism ended by layoffs last year.
Dusting of snow here in Kansas City last week and then an avalanche of salt. I drive the back streets Springsteen like as they are salt free to get the car up to temp twice a week. Getting ready to do rear rotors and pads.

Last day at work for the year was on Monday - and year-end review with the boss. Fretted over my write-up all weekend, he looked at it for 3 minutes, jotted down some kind words and said Merry Christmas. Put a new battery in the Previa. Shoveled snow off the driveway by the garage (3 more inches last night), called up David Snowplow (that's how he is listed in my phone) to plow out the long driveway in anticipation of the "Storm of Christmas 2010" coming on Friday. The wife is wrapping all the crap that I keep telling her not to buy. I finished shopping for my boys (tools, of course), and making jerky. Bought a 964 C4 widebody for myself, waiting for delivery. Doing some cross-country skiing with new skis and boots to replace my 25 yr old ones, on the deer trails in the woods behind the house. (I find XC just as mellowing as track days). Setting up a new computer for my Mom and Dad (setting myself up as Administrator, and them as Std Users so they are limited in the ways they can screw it up). No. 2 son coming over tomorrow to use my garage for oil change, rotors/pads change on his Accord, and asking DadO for some help on a woodworking project for Xmas gift. Should be fun. Thursday I am putting a new cooling unit in my wine cellar cabinet. Friday, go to my sister's house, pick up No. 3 son from airport, and wait for Santa to come. I think we will leave him some jerky this year. Next week pull out the drivers side blower in the 964, something is stuck in there, and heat doesn't work quite right.
Whew, sure glad I'm on vacation.
Jaime! good to hear from you, you have been way too silent...

That's why I give Pete a blast of a few thousand revs of pure air cooled ecstacy every time I drive by his house.

BTW, I am really disappointed in all of you guys. Apparently you didn't read all of the details in my post above. There's a secret buried in there Or, maybe you just don't care.
