These are so stunningly beautiful it hurts and I'm losing sleep at night, not eating right trying to find one. Looking all over it's just simply brutal...you guys have the sickest looking 911's period...simply dying to find a Black 964 c2 Coupe..if anyone knows of one out there for sale forever grateful. how'd you get yours? any great ideas? thanks

as i mentioned in the 'other' thread, i found mine here on RL through a wanted post - it did take some time. a number of people contacted me privately and i wound up with one from a very low key member. private sales, without actually marketing the car, are more common with the hectic nature of the market. i do know of a later black/classic gray C2 that might still be for sale. i could reach back out to the owner and see what the response is.

Yes - that would be excellent. I realize, I'm going to likely have to find a low key member - but I realize how exclusive the group is...so very much going to need a boost.

once we spoke, he was super friendly and engaging. sent me pics, gave me details, etc., i just went in another direction based on overall factors.
you just have to pursue every lead every day - i did. it took a while, but i'm extremely pleased with the C2 i wound up with.

Mine isn't a coupe but I "found" it in the parking lot of an independent Porsche garage. It had been sitting outside for 3+ years and hadn't been registered since 2000. It needed work but I was able to make the car my own on a thin budget. As you search - keep your eyes open for cars in side lots or behind a repair shops. I got pretty lucky in terms of the condition of the car's bones under years of dust but the price was worth the gamble.

I love Chicago, grew up there. Was the shop in the burbs or the city? I've been contacting a few of the mechanics I know as they work on both air and water cooled..I would've done this earlier just wasn't a possibility till now fingers crossed). Enjoy these beauties, my gawd they are a sight to see. R
