Default Here are some pics

Here are some pics of the mount. It is pretty easy to see the hairline crack on the mount in the first picture on the upper left side. I got what I paid for

My 993 mounts made a small watery noise after a vigorous shake. Purchased from Porsche this year.

Well then they are probably hydrolic.

My old ones sould like a half full bottle of water if you shake them even a little bit.

Yes possibly
Just replying to velocitylover comment that they are solid rubber. They didn't appear to be as much fluid as the 964 mounts i removed , but you coudl hear the fluid

My comment was regarding mounts on my car with # mentioned earlier.
Porsche labeled them with 4 different numbers and name of color dot after each number.
If you see Blue dot it corresponds to application # 993 375 049 05, if Red # 986 375 049 01 (Boxter), if Black # 993 375 049 07, if White # 993 375 049 06.Don't know what # you have, but my blue dot mounts are solid.I'll try to dig out a photo.

Interesting how they did that.

Just put all the part numbers and mark with a colored dot.

What happens when the dot comes off?

Hopefully by then the mounts are in your car and you knew what you bought

I wonder if they are just injecting different weight oils in them?

Its more like using harder vs. softer rubber compound - there is definitely no liquid in them.

I've got more info from my supplier on the 964 mounts. Looks like they are preparing to supersede them, and also make left/right the same part number:

Looks like the only difference is the price, get a look at the stamping on this one, it's for the 964 and the 965 both sides. This is a genuine mount so there is no funny business with how it's marked. Oh and remember that logo I send you of Freudenburg? well there it sits right next to the genuine Porsche logo. That will confirm it's a hydro mount as well.

Note the new 964 375 049 01/050 01 numbers. Those are brand new numbers and indicate the 964 375 049 00/050 00 are probably discontinued and getting ready to be officially subed.

We are going to see a run on whatever mount is the cheapest once you release this discovery.

I believe the differences between the mounts are the stud lengths coming out the back. I researched this heavily for my Boxster book. And the mount you show here is a hydro mount - it's not a solid mount.

That's not accurate, these mounts are all hydraulic inside the rubber. Cut one apart, and you'll see.

Unless they changed something radically in the following years (I guess it's possible). The older 993/996/Boxster mounts leak fluid when they get old and start to crack.

With all due respect to your knowlege the mounts I have were built in 2003 and before installing them they were examined by me for quite a while.
They are heavier than the 964 mounts and have all rubber inside.
Also tried to get any sound of slushing out of them, but no luck...
I may cut them up some day just to see for sure, but not before they go bad - lets hope this thread is still around by then...
