Janis would agree.
Your Porsche, your canvas...

(Now, granted, she only made it to 27 on her judgment - but it was some wild ride, Baby!)

OK just because I promised, here are some all black options...I think I'll be sticking with a silver treatment (if I do anything).

I'd be lying if I said that never crossed my mind. But don't worry, I won't burn this car. ..intentionally.

But to your point, one of the (smaller) reasons I was thinking about the two tone scheme is because the hood and decklid have been repainted in their lifetime. But because the rest of the car hasn't, you can clearly see a difference in the paint between the hood and the fenders next to it (which look like they have some sun fading). If you look closely enough, you can actually see it in the photos. I can usually ignore it, but it bothers me. So this would be a way to "fix" that without having to repaint the whole car.

For sure I'll have the stance worked on when I redo the shocks next Spring (earlier if Julie's Forester sells and this becomes a daily driver). I'm not 100% sure on the 17s though. I guess I haven't found a wheel I really love in 17s. That and I'm toying with doing a "spirit of" version of the king of all 964 C4s....which came with D90s!

I've toyed with the idea of doing the silver script on the rocker (same as what you are showing) with a silver PORSCHE decal on the windshield and rear deck lid (sort of "Springer" like). I actually thought about doing it all in orange and painting the wheels that color too but...ah...I guess I'm still thinking about it.

I've seen that car at the R&R HOF in Cleveland. Very cool. Did you see they did a 911 that way in the movie "Across the Universe"? Great flic BTW.

It's very easy to go "too far" with this. I like the relationship of the silver script and the clear headlamps. But from the rear there are no silver accents to tie into the script. Maybe I need to do a single stripe around the bumper (a la longhood again) to pull it all together? Hmmm...I feel a lunchtime Photoshop project coming on....

Are there wider versions of the D90? Or you could install some spacers for a wider stance and a slightly different look.

Opps looks like JZM removed the car for some reason.

Either way this works and you get to put it back to original afterwards!!

Some ideas for the rear...building on the silver theme...plain, rear stripe, rear stripe with center reflector painted body color...

I'd nix the sliver band idea on the rear bumper...I don't think it works as well on the 964 larger bumper profile. Or continue the same stripe design from the doors and stop the stripes earlier...that would carry the side stripe design to the rear bumper in an integrated way. (Integrated design is what the 964 is all about).

I see you have PORSCHE letters on top of your center light bar...maybe mirror the same door stripe pattern on the back (to get more silver on the back of the car - I'd de-badge the car if you were going to do that). Or just paint the rear emblem silver?

Have you been driving the car these past couple of weeks? How's the drive?

Looks a little busy. I would just go with a silver Carrera badge.

How about the rear wiper delete mod to smooth things out in the back?

No. I was waiting to get it into a shop with my wheel squeak issue (1 week). Then it sat in the shop for almost a week waiting on a friggin' $7 spring for the parking brake. This week it's back in the 90s, no way my AC can compete with that, so it's all Subie. It's going to cool down this weekend, but we'll be in Michigan visiting family. (not quite ready to take the C4 on longer drives just yet.)

So still struggling to find time to drive.
