I got it from a UK company called Stuttgart Connection run by a guy called Mike King, but it was many years ago and I'm not sure they're still trading - couldn't find them with a quick google.

Hi All - thnks for the welcome. Great stuff!
All the guards red 964's look fantastic!
John - based in east london near the Hackney area. Very interesting to see you go from the 997 GT3 back to the 964C2. I read alot of the story in the first 50 edts ot total 911!
Car suspension - the car is as purchased at the moment so need to do some digging but i think it has eibach lowering springs not sure if its 30mm or 40mm...but its pretty low. Paperwork with car shows a previous owner purchase some RUF suspension but not sure how much of those components are left
My first big to do is tidying up some corrosion issues, front respray and i am thinking about some paintshield for the front as well. I will keep you informed.

It's not exactly that I went from the GT3 back to the 964. More that I always regretted selling the 964 - I would have kept it alongside the GT3 had it been more feasible - and that I felt the onset of 'been there, done that' with the GT3. Modern Porsches are just (brilliant) machines; they don't have the intrinsic specialness of the older cars. Same with my current Boxster Spyder - my word, that is a stunning sports car, a real buzz and a huge adrenaline rush to drive. And yet, it remains a cold machine at heart, merely a supremely fit-for-purpose appliance. It's wonderful that Porsche can still make such a fantastic driver's car, but in doing so it has proved - to me, at least - that such a car is actually not enough. The thrill of the Spyder is like plugging yourself into the mains, but I need more than to be thrilled: I want something that I can bond with.
My 964 has shared - and I really mean that word - so much of my and Paula's lives. It's been a family member from well before she developed MS and I'm sure that it will be a practical car to get her in and out of long after other cars have become too difficult. My 964 has an 'always there for us' feel to it that it's not possible to find in a modern car. It is as close to a living, breathing creature as a car can possibly be - without doubt a true friend.
Sorry about that little diversion - got a bit carried away there for a moment. :-)

So got the car back after a few mths away. Nice to have it back. Jobs completed
- left hand front light and wing replaced after minor incident with a rangie
- had the left wing covered in the new xpel paintshield product (which the insurer covered which was nice). The contrast between it and the old film is night and day. I will probably upgrade the rest at some pt next year it's that much better
- added 7mm shims to the rear as they tyre fitting place removed them when putting the tyres on.
- 6k service which included an underseal and a few other bits and bobs.
Jobs to do:
- rear RS brake upgrade (discs and callipers)
- still prefer to replace rear lights and centre reflector with newbie units
- windscreen I think will need to be replaced...probably should have done it while at the bodyshop
- engine reseal/rebuild (not sure which yet)
- front seats could do with a southbound (or the like) retrim
Think that's it......the project continues
