Default this may be a stupid request but....

i am currently a proud owner of a mint 1986 944 turbo and i love it..... i have been a Porsche fan for years and only now do i have the knowledge and money to work on some nice projects.... i am in love with the 964 and would really like to have one.

i would like to know if anyone here knows of or has a 964 that needs some work.... and wants to sell it. by some work i mean anywhere from just some engine work to needing an entire engine and interior or even wrecked. i do it all and love making cars "mine" so having to work on it is not an issue, i would rather have it that way.

I'm in the market for a fairly reasonable priced project so if anyone has one or knows anyone, please let me know

also is their a place i can search for "project" type cars like this? i have looked at eBay, craigslist and auto trader with no luck

i live in Goldsbor North Carolina and am willing to come pick one up at any distance....

thank you guys for your time

Dice,
Welcome to the '64 board. The first Porsche I drove was a 944 Turbo...so, so smooth!
Your '44 looks great...on that note:

Just a quick heads up for this coming weekend at VIR...

* World Challenge Championships Round 10 & 11
* SCCA Pro Trans-Am Round 9
* SCCA Pro Spec Racer Ford and Formula Enterprise Rounds 9 & 10
* Porsche 944 Cup (thought you might be interested in this race?!
* USSK Super Karts

There was just one discussed on the 911 section of these boards.

Looks nice, but needs work for sure.

Compression leak.
Possible ABS/AWD problems
Clutch
Brakes
AC
probably some other assorted issues

$10-11K

https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...-opinions.html

I have no other knowledge or assoication to this car than what was posted about it.

What's your point of entry? Anything I see going for $12-13K (~$15K asking) is generally a car that, no matter how much you spend, ends up being at best a $15K car once you're done fixing. There are too many nice, no stories cars out there for ~$20K. If, as there was a poster on another thread, you're hoping to get in at $10-11K, spare yourself the trouble. Save your money and buy a good one.

(I've got even more first-hand experience with all this as I've put my low-$20K RSA on the market.)

race911:
im a DIY guy and like making stuff my self. i want one that needs work to make it "mine" like i stated before, and i dont plan selling it anytime soon. this car is for me to enjoy and i plan on making it that way.

i understand where your coming from but this is just how i feel about it.... who knows, if i cant find one i like then i may end up buying something ready to go....
