Whats the fastest U have driven your 964

148 mph while in pursuit of a couple of speed bikes. 20 minutes later, and already having slowed down to about half the speed, a trooper "pace clocked" me from over 500 yards back and 3 lanes away, and ticketed me for going allegedly 95 in a 55. Will let you know what happens at the court hearing, but I was surprised 40 over the limit wasn't a criminal offense. It should be easy to defeat, though, as 25 would've been more plausible, and my white 91 turbo with mod's kinda sticks out, so the trooper must have felt that he had to stick it in me (ouch!) with 40...
I'm not going to get into a whole traffic citation defense thing here, other than to say that if you're under direct examination and admit to even being 1mph over the speed limit..........guilty! I had similar 20+ years ago where I was cited for 105mph, a "speed over 100mph" being a more serious infraction. So all I wanted to do was have the officer admit he couldn't have been going that 105mph in the short distance he paced me. Basically I wanted to plea bargain it down to a regular infraction, hope of traffic school, etc. Nope. If I admitted to even going 56mph............guilty!

I can hit 230kph if I get Eau Rouge right at the end of the Kemel. 90m braking for Les Combes.
Blanchement is slightly slower with a lift & dab for B2.
The track is much cheaper than if you get caught on the public roads.

In my current p-car I keep to pretty reasonable speeds unless overtaking (the top always being down has a lot to do with this). In my C4, which was always just solid as a rock, somewhere just north of 130mph..obviously this wasn't on a public road or in this solar system.

Think I might have nudged 130mph on a couple of occasions but always seem to run out of tarmac too soon!!
Having said that, I hit around 185mph on tarmac most days at work, just before I leave it behind!!! .............V1..........Rotate

Man, this thread really took off (6 pages), no pun intended ^^^.
I understand that before my car was lowered, it was a little tricky to drive above 120MPH because it would wander around. Lowered with billy HD's and pro kits and with an aggressive street alignment courtesy of Jae at Mirage Intl, the car is rock solid at any and all speeds.

Best speed at Sandown Raceway, Victoria, Australia. 205 km/h about 130 mp/h or there abouts, 4th gear down the back straight before coming into 'Dandenong', Car felt great, really stable at speed, just a stock 3.6 litre 964only mods are suspension and brakes.
Was at a Porsche club track day at the Phillip Island raceway, I did a hot lap session as a passenger in a not so standard 993 twin turbo.... right on 300 kp/h down the main straight, I was buzzing for days after that!!!

I used to use my 91' 964 C2 as a daily drive for years in Germany. Being on the Autobahn you go as fast as the car will go - in my case indicated 280kph, rev limited. Not to long ago I checked with GPS how fast that really is - 264kph (164mph).
The car is all original and easily driveable at those speeds.
And yes, there where times when I got passed :-)

Well, for just a tiptronic I can burst to a little over 100MPH when I get on to I-205 to go to work but I back it down quick so I blend in with the other commuters. This little jaunt is daily and she does get a good work out in my 15 miles to work. Very little stop and go but quite a bit of two lane once I get off of the bypass, so I get to bump her up to pass and again in two car lengths I am at 80 from 40.
My all time was only about 110MHP on a mountain road to get past about 4 cars in a very short straight away which went into a hard left turn. That was fun. This is all of course here in a more populated area then when I was in Montana, I hung curves at 130-135MPH on a regular bases (that was just the little 2.7L 5spd 911S)
Haven't had the area to try that out yet here in the North West.
One reason I have been think about joining the local p-club. -D²

155 in the photo below @ Pocono Raceway.
Once passed a cop (sitting) on I-95 in Georgia - doing about 150.
He never came after me nor called it in. My wife had me neutered shortly after that.

I have only had mine a week. I was surprised, it got to 100, pretty darn quick, in 4th gear, at 5300ft alt. I am just a little scared of the 1997 date code Dunlops on it so I didn't want to push it too much further, but I figure there was still 5th! She pulls really hard from 4000 rpm well past redline (7200) whoops. For a twenty year old car with 132k at 100ish it didn't feel too much different than at 60. It's lightyears better to drive than my wife's 98 Z3 2.8 with 45K on it.
