What is interesting, and as a comparison to the 993/996/997, is the lack of high speed stability. It is there for everyone's search.

120mph before smokey stopped me. she was solid and wanted to keep going. that was my first ticket after 20+ yrs of driving. the officer didn't want to give me a break but said after he issued the ticket, 'that was bad timing'.

???

As I mentioned above, I've not had any interest in probing the top speed limits since owning 964's and 993's over the past dozen years. HOWEVER, having......uh..............explored "top speed" such as it was in everything from a 2.0S to modified 930s, no way no how is someone going to tell me that any of the coil spring cars lack stability compared to the torsion bar cars. And I think the torsion bar cars, even a square tired longhood with no aero, is OK up to about 140. In a straight line, of course.

155 MPH on a 2 lane highway 3 years ago.
Will never do it again...Track is the safest place for speed.

120mph on a clear freeway, for a few miles. Very relaxing. Years ago I did 250kph on an autobahn (around 155mph?) in a BMW 323i - a knuckle whitening experience. Everything was happening far too quickly for my taste

165 indicated on I-66W near Front Royal...blew out a door seal. Now THAT was some scary sh*t (I thought I blew a tire at first...)

As above, the worst thing about a top speed run is slowing back down to the speed limit. Feels like you're walking.

964R should not play this game because of the 993tt engine in there, haha. Joking aside, how did this car feel at 186mph?

Cops scare me, but there are the occasional runs on the freeway at 3am at 150ish.

The fastest I recall was 152 on the speedo with the top down.
I then hit a humped bridge section of highway and believe I went airborne.
I also bounced up completely off the seat so the only thing I was holding onto was the steering wheel.

Thank you God......

My top speed days on the highway are OVER.

Lately, I'm just happy to hit a speed where my spoiler pops up. Drove over to a friend's house the other night, and it was 25 minutes of 25-30 mph residential streets. I hate driving my car 'as intended', unless there aren't any houses in sight.

261 on my GPS... but I was scared s******s there was traffic on the German autobahn and I saw a car pulling into the left lane.. maybe doing 120.... boy did I get the jitters
the Porsche brakes saved my a** that time... no more top speed 'fun' for me anymore, except maybe on a track, roads in Europe are congested like hell.

at 295kph is my car on the Revs-limit in the 5th gear.
I drove this speed some times going the 600kilometers from munich to the nordschleife on early saturday morning.
The car is very stable and feels good at the speed. But the noisy (sound :-)) ist heavy and the fuel consumption is realy high. Also the other travic-participants don´t realize this high speed difference... this makes these rides a little bit dangerous.

Perfect travel-speed for me is from 180kph to 250kph.

295kph in miles per hour is... um, times the square root, uh, carry the 1, uh..REALLY DANG FAST!!!

Roland, not to change the subject, but what color of blue is your car in your avatar picture? Very Nice.

165 mph, top down. I felt it still had juice for a little more. Very steady.
