Default Car cover question- what is the best one for outside?

A friend asked me what would be the best car cover for his '74 mustang- I have never used an outdoor car cover so don't know what to recommend, but rennlist always has some smart folks so I figured I'd try here!!! Any recommendations?

Thanks!

What's he looking to protect it from?
Only against sun w/ occasional unexpected, passing thunderstorms? (A winter queen? It's a longshot - but I'm not taking for granted other's 'treasures'.)
4-season, but nightly garage storage?
Outside, 4-season storage?

I've always bought covers made of Evolution, it's sort of "quilted" and so has the best ding protection and is soft. But water will eventually soak through in a downpour. I still use it on the Porsche for indoor protection, but it's in a garage. I use a Weathershield cover on the Saab I keep outside. It is 100% water resistant, but not soft. I think the best of all worlds is one made of Sunbrella or Weathershield HD.
Of course, they are the highest-priced, by about double. But your car is worth it.

I've used Covercraft's "Noah" for outside and was quite happy. I see your in the Northeast so it should do the job nicely. http://www.covercraft.com/outdoor_covers.htm

Have him give California Car Cover a call. They will match his needs with the appropriate cover. I've used them for many cars and have never been disappointed.

Got a high-end wolf cover a few years ago for the 912 and 964 to share when need temp garage space - held up fine, really nicely put together.

Thanks for the replies- I'll forward the information. It's actually a friends husband- I have no idea of the condition of the car etc, but I guess I should assume the car is permanently outside here in the northeast (i.e. winters? )
