I've been following this debate on JEs for some time as I had the same dilemma before building my 3.8. I'm 3k in now. Je pistons in Mahle barrels make no noticeable noise whatsoever and idles quietly from cold. My engine will be primarily street and maybe a the occasional track day... I'm getting the itch. From my experience so far I have nothing but praise for the advice and assistance given to me by Troy at ebs racing and despite my own engine builders reticence at installing je's from his early experiences with them. Things have been great so far.
