Default Any easy way to tell if a chip exist?

A buddy of mine from afar asked me to check out a local 964 C2 the other day. I did a brief test drive and found the motor to be atypically strong. When I asked the owner whether or not a performance chip has been installed, his response was that he does not know. The only other modification I could tell visually was a a TeZet sport muffler.

The current owner has only put approximately 1,500 miles on it since he purchased it 5 years ago and is one of 7 Porsche's in his collection. Mileage is just under 18K.

Is there a simple way to tell if a chip has been installed? I obviously don't want to pull the seat or test the redline since it is not my car.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The only sure way I know of is to remove the ECU, pull the cover, and have a look,....

Or use the scan tool to query the chip.
