Default Oil pressure gauge cure

Hello!
My oil pressure gauge is playing with me. I just replaced oil pressure sender with new original porsche part. Sometimes, very often for some days on, it shows very low oil pressure. If i tap it with my finger it suddenly rises. Now i don t know what to do. Repair, where? Bad contact, where? replace with 993 gauge? On 993 gauge the lights are placed in different locations and i like to keep the original aspect of the 964 gauge.
Any thoughts?

If tapping on the gauge face, fixes the problem, it sounds like you may have a faulty gauge. There are two shops that people seem to mention as giving good service. They are Hollywood Speedometer and Palo Alto Speedometer.

Hello!
Thank for the info, but i live in the other part of the world. Something in europe is better for me. Does this mean that there are no poor contacts that can be fixed?

Hopefully someone else will speak up. I'm hoping to see a simple or inexpensive fix too.

You can use a pencil eraser to clean the carbon off the pin contacts at the back of the gauge.
