Default Sunroof Question

Hi guys, i removed my sunroof headliner panel and readjusted my sunroof, it now sits correctly. I reglued the headliner as it was loose in several areas and it came out really nice, the only thing is now with everything back together the sunroof motor seems to be laboring in the first 3 inches of opening, i think maybe the edge of the headliner had gotten a little sticky after regluing.
What type of grease can i apply in that track?? Can i just use a little bit of the black grease i used in my CV joints???

I have my headliner out also, so I've searched around to understand its working and it seems as though most suggest cleaning the cables as much as possible -remove all the grease and gunk you can. Grease attracts dirt and the dirt works its way into the cable guides. (just feedback, I might be wrong)

I would also worry the wrong grease could liquefy, due to extreme summer temps, and run out on to the headliner. (but I'm afraid I'm doing everything wrong when I touch my car)

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I too need to re-glue a portion of the headliner around the sunroof, is there any particular type that I need or will crazy glue suffice?

I used that 3M headliner spray glue. But i would imagine there are many glues that would work.

Jerry - This Pelican article specifically says no grease. http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...oof_repair.htm

As for the correct glue for the headliner, I used 3M Super 77 contact adhesive.

You may have dropped the small white plastic glide parts.

I've replaced mine, as one of the old ones was worn near threw.

Hey, if your roof is binding, try taking out the transmission, then pushing your roof all the way back, then re-engaging the transmission. Your roof might be a little bit cocked from when you took it out.
