Pulling this post Since the ads in classifieds but in essence off the market except for compelling offers.

Not sure what will replace it - nothing in the 1 year time frame (have to buy a house or 2)
i might build a car from scratch

Unfortunately I'm far from being a potential principle in this purchase, but let me be the first to to welcome you to the area.

RDU is great place to live, with an interesting mix of University and corporate people. It goes without saying that there's a wonderful Porsche scene here too. Beach, RDU, Blue Ridge Mountains, and VIR!

Though your car is an incredible piece of Porsche racing history, I can understand the desire for something different. Your comment about building a car from scratch would probably feel pretty liberating after owning a series spec. car...a 911 shell is a blank canvas!

What's the potential starting point? Long hood or 964 shell

Yes Raleigh is a great place (we lived there 12 years ago in fact).

On the build up - not sure just an inkling right now, but a dedicated track car would be my primary target or i may jump ship and build a 2009 Land rover Defender 110 from scratch using new parts.
or something else entirely. At this point i am not even focused on any potential project until i can get settled
