Default RS hub question

To do the RS (fan) hub conversion the only new piece needed is the RS hub, itself? (e.g., as from Porsche, or Rothsport)

And that you can reuse the old 'inner' pulley's halves & shims?

Is there anything major, here, that I'm brain-farting into omission?

(I've gone over the forum threads and just want to confirm before taking my shopping cart to check out.)

TIA

When I went with the rs hub, I bought a new outer pulley half (from rothsport) as well as new shims. I was worried the existing ones might be stuck on there, or get damaged upon removal, or I might not have enough...

Inner half was reused.

Inner half was reused.
(Thanks! That's precisely one of the parts I'm contemplating)

If you had to do it over again, would you save yourself that pulley half's expense?
Or, IOW, can both OE (inner) pulley pieces be reused on the RS hub's installation?

Now, granted - I like shiny, new pieces as much as the next guy - but my existing golden-hued steel pulley half looks plenty shiny to my eyes, as a shiny new black-anodized aluminum one.
And if I reuse that steel outer half, I'd get to plow saved coin into other maintenance items.

I like the look of the new outer pulley half. However, the existing ones could easily enough be repainted, polished, or left as is.

I had no problems reusing the inner pulley half. The surface that faces the belt was polished smooth but did not appear particularly worn. Have had no problems with it - tensioned properly and no belt slippage.

Pelican.
Why do you ask?

(Have the feeling I'm about to be told I've chosen #37 of the places most recommended in picking up an RS hub.)

I was just wondering as I am planning this myself and wondering where to get the parts.

Marc
p.s. I order from Pelican so often their order form is my browser's home page.

I bought my shims through pelican, but picked up the RS hub from rothsport on eBay. I believe the price was the same.
