Default friday frustration!!!

so my neighbor borrowed my rototiller, and he and my son got it out of the garage from next to the Porsche with no issues..... I, on the other hand, can't park it without taking a dime sized chunk of paint off the rear bumper corner!!!:ba nghead:

Not much else. Got a photoshoot tomorrow in Utica IL at a park notorious for waterfalls. like 20 photogs and 15 people that have a lot of experience modeling, to some with very little We've had enough rain the waterfalls should be in full glory. Might drive the Porsche down; it's about 3 hrs to get there from my house.

what about you??

Its a beautiful day so when I get off work at 11:30 I think I will take a top down drive over towards the coast to watch the shuttle go up. Traffic is going to really suck so I probably will stay about 10 mile inland from the coast for an easy get away back home. I got some points for my OMC inboard at NAPA for my boat. i am going to change them out and hopefully the darn thing will start.I hope I can remember how to set points

Left the house to find about a litre of oil on the ground behind the porsche - looks like my timing chain covers aren't as fixed as I had thought.

No p-car work this weekend except a drive up to CAA (like AAA) to get windshield insurance.

No rain in the forecast for Detroit. Watch F1 qualifying at Monaco Saturday AM (my absolute favorite track),then run to Cars & Coffee, followed by a trip to Oxford to drive my buddy's new (to him) Ferrari 360 Spyder F1, followed by a possible drive to Ann Arbor on Sunday.

Counting on 6 weeks delay for my 964's delivery, after.... 8 months notice of purchase.

So not much on the Porsche world.

Geoff - I store my snow blower need my cabrio. I'm always worried I'm going to nick the bump as I am muscling it out of the garage. So far, I've been lucky. Sorry to hear your car is damaged. Maybe this is an excuse to have the bumper repainted and fix any stone chips? Trying to look for a silver lining in a bad situation.

No significant plans for the weekend besides finally washing the car and getting onto my bicycle for the first time of the season.

Sorry about the scratch Hawk. Good reminder for me also, my lawnmower is just inches from my car's rear bumper. I need to remember to slow down...

Hope to slip out and do a nice random loop in the country this weekend...haven't driven the car in over a week. In that time I've had the doors, hood and engine lid open a lot peeking and prodding at various things...told the wife I'll need to drive it a bit this weekend to get the battery charged up.

P.S. will check my air box bolts post-ride.

Have to change the oil and check over the car for the first DE event of the year next weekend. Lots of crawling under the car.

On the positive, the brake lines from Pelican arrived a day early! They really got their stuff together!

On the frustrating end.... the lines are the same as what I have now... duh! I need to sort this out... so yeah, doing that this weekend... car is now on the lift.

964 went back to the mechanic last night - I was expecting a call today to confirm it was the alternator, but have not heard from them.

This evening I spent a couple of hours cleaning the turbo. Looks very shiny.

ETA : And the turbo will roll over the 30k mile mark this weekend. Which is a little surprising, since I bought it with 20,800 miles on it and that was only 8 months ago. For the last couple of years, my average annual mileage on my daily car was only 9k miles!

I got back from watching the shuttle go up.It was a beautiful launch with a sound you have to hear to believe! It was really clear and you could see the boosters fall off and the shutes floating down with binoculars. Problem is I left my camera sitting at the house

First DE of the year is next weekend. So, will be continuing to check, flush, change, tighten, clean, shine, .... I won't receive my DAS roll bar until at least Monday. Not sure I will have the time to get it installed by Friday. But, I will at least still use the Recaros and perhaps the harness (with a guide bar and shoulder harness attached at rear seat belt locations).

I had an alignment done this week. Frustrating, again. I don't understand why I have difficulty getting a shop to do what I want and do it right. I requested RS specs. I got something in between, and a comment "that's all I could get". And when I crawled underneath, I see either 1) there is still room left for adjustment or 2) adjustment bolts had never been touched. The car drives very well in my commutes; but I don't have the alignment I wanted (primarily the extra negative camber in the rear and the proper toe-in) for the track time. sorry for the rant.

Giddy with anticipation.
