Default is this for real......

am I way of base or they.....sure its low mileage/nice mods (whaletail is questionable without forced induction), BUT $50k for a car that's worth maybe $30k on the street if it has a manual (deduct for a tip)...and its a tip!!

Some nice mods (minus the freak-show tail, can never warm up to those things on any car, sorry), but they did all of it to the wrong car, IMO.
If I were the market for one of those, I want it to be unmolested.
But if you're going to molest one, it might as well be a tip.
And such low miles too, what a shame.
Looking for that "one" buyer for one like that I guess, if there is such a person.

Here is a price to put beside it; draw up some comparisons:

Hard to say if it's unreasonable. The Ruf mods are pricey (heads, cams, remap) and probably push output over 300 hp. Too bad they don't include dyno results. But there are other factors which might justify the high price tag:

- Limited edition Roadster
- Very low mileage: 20K miles
- Desirable color combination: Triple black
- 3.6 Turbo Wheels
- Ruf Auto Centre's reputation (they generally offer nicer cars)
- Relatively strong local economy (Texas was not as hard hit as most of the US)

I don't believe that a tip is necessarily a bad thing for a cab, either. I mean, who in their right mind wants to mess with a shifter when you're just trying to enjoy a sunny drive in your ragtop?

I also agree that the car is not priced out of the ball park. Joey's reasoning is very sound.

Seems like that NC dealer has had that car for a while, IIRC.

That price seems puffed, that's firmly into 993 C2S/C4S territory.

Sorry, just not feelin it. The tip just kills it.
If my wife were looking for a car, maybe. Women don't want to be bothered with stirrin' the shifter sometimes.

it's a beautiful car. all depends on what the final price turns out to be when the pink slip changes hands.

then you'll know if the $ 50 k pricetag was reasonable or not.

you won't catch a rennlister driving a tiptronic, and the people who want them usually are not used car buyers so,

i think it'll go for about $ 42-45 k when it's all done, and that will take a while.

They're cool cars, don't get me wrong, but I don't see the money in this one.
A search yields a lot of these out there in the $23K-$35K range.
Granted, without the RUF stuff, but I still maintain that was done to the wrong car.

They say "there's a butt for every seat", it's just a matter of at what price.

i kind of thought that myself....re the mods, ie fast turbo look cab - low mileage, until i got to the bottom & saw "tip"....imo anyone looking at plus 300hp in a 964 is likely not really interested in a tip. (& most may not be interested in a vert).
should have perhaps stayed as concours material...

thats exactly the valuation range PCA will give you for a WTL cab for insurance purposes (with the average of recorded sales for the past 12 mos lower than the high end of the range)

Horse****! I track mine, and there are a bunch out there with serious drivers. Try and drive the Porsche manual in traffic and see how much fun it is.

I don't think it's that outrageous either... there are only 250 made... the body seems untouched as well as the interior. Everything is reversible - yes this will cost you, but most people will look at the RUF stuff as a plus - and most isn't visible. RUF has surpassed the status of tuner and entered as a manufacturer into the super car arena way back with the Yellow Bird.

Granted, the tail is not the greatest... the WTL with retractable spoiler is awesome looking.

But think of this: there are probably less auto boxes made in that car than manuals... so it may prove to become even more exclusive.

And the driver who buys it for a driver's car and doesn't want the tip box won't mind the engine upgrades (will probab pay more for these) and can just convert to a manual box.

Someone will pay close to this and will probably not lose too much on it granted it gets taken care of well.

The 100k+ Andial parts car... now that one may be a little over the top for a car like this. Yes it is exclusive but 100k+ rare?!? Then again... someone may actually want to spend that amount on this... long live free markets!

Though I don't mind automatic cars at all I also don't mind driving the 911 in traffic with a manual gearbox. If anything I think a manual makes you a more alert driver.
