Default From two cars to none...

For a few weeks there I was really rollin' ;-)

C2 in the garage for fun and a new Q5 S-Line for the daily grind. The latter has only 900 kms (500 miles) on it.

Well I'm starting to believe in Murphy's law...

The Q5 went in because the gearbox was clunking downshifting to first gear. They're doing all kinds of diagnostics and programming and whatnot. Turns out it's likely an improperly installed trans filter.

Took the 911 in to G Tek to have the rear passenger fender rolled as it was rubbing ever so slightly. While their it appears one of the rear shocks expelled it's oil...so I'm going to have them put four new Bilsteins in.

Should get both back sometime next week.

The good news is that Audi has provided me with a new A4 as a loaner for the duration of the warranty work. Nice car.

While the 911 is at the shop I'm trying incredibly hard to resist calling them and telling them to put in a strut tower brace, short shifter and secondary bypass. Give me strength;-)

Phew, thought much worse. Get the stuff for the 64, you know you'll love it (and will eventually)

Q-what?

Mods Mods Mods!

I had my 6 speed allroad into Audi for repairs a few years ago. I told them it was the master cylinder, and they didn't listen. They had the car 8 WEEKS, during which they replaced the clutch, gearbox (after blaming me for the problem and wanting me to pay for it) and eventually covered the work under warranty... when I got it back it still didn't work... and it turned out to be the master cylinder after all.

I don't have a lot of confidence in the local Audi service guys.

You could do all that work yourself, but either way I'd say do it, too!!!! Worthwhile, if you ask me.

hawk - I'd like to but we're in a condo and will likely be here another 12 months. Don't really have a spot unfortunately...

Having to battle with the Audi Service Manager every inch of they way. It was going to cost me $4K... I had to prove every inch of the fight, and none of it was necessary. It was the M/C all along. </thread-jack>
