Default Friday Festivities!!!

Our local club has been in existence for 50 yrs now. They are having events throughout the summer to commemorate the milestone. Tonight is an informal car show, and they have 120 people that indicated they would be attending. The weather is supposed to be very nice- mid to high 70s and sunny. Perfect for people to bring out the cars.

I'll be taking pictures of the event for the club. I'll be able to post them next week. I need to wash my car before I go up there tonight!

What have you got going on?

Cool

16th anniversary so to celebrate let me share a few thoughts... ...and yes, after 16 years you develop a hell of a sense of humor, or burst.

"By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher." - Socrates

"Spouse: someone who'll stand by you through all the trouble you wouldn't have had if you'd stayed single."

"Marriage: a book of which the first chapter is written in poetry and the remaining chapters written in prose." - Beverly Nichols

"If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?" - Anonymous

Then there was a man who said, 'I never knew what real happiness was until I got married; by then it was too late.' - Anonymous

My wife and I were happy for 20 years - then we met. - Rodney Dangerfield

The secret of a happy marriage remains a secret. - Henry Youngman

Marriage is a three ring circus: engagement ring, wedding ring, and suffe-ring. - Anonymous

A good wife always forgives her husband when she's wrong. - Milton Berle

It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life. ~Rita Rudner

Remember, if you smoke after sex you're doing it too fast. ~Woody Allen

I have a few projects for the 964 this weekend. 1) Change the tranny oil. I will be giving Redline 75W-90NS a try. I'm hoping it helps with the notchiness when the tranny is hot. I currently have Delvac in it. I also plan on installing longer wheel studs on the other rear wheel. Two weeks ago, I had done 1 wheel but didn't have time to do the other. Once installed, I will install the new 1/4" spacers, replacing the current 4mm ones. I'm still getting tire rubbing on the inside wheel well on the driver's side.

Meanwhile, the weather is expected to be in the low 80's. I plan on giving the car a bath and taking it out for a long drive.

Happy Anniversary Jamie!

My plans are to wash the car and wheels after my last track day session. Then, I'll start to get ready for the next track day event in May by re-flushing the brakes (I used Castrol SRF but the brakes got a little soft so I must have a bit of air in there), checking the oil level, and lubing the sway bars.

In addition, I finally got some parts from Pelican I was waiting for so can fix my left rocker panel and replace the front fender bolts and washers.

Finally, I got some beautiful parts from Carbon Marcus which I am bustin' to install - yes, I will post pics!

i am babysitting my GF 120# Rotti while she s in NY visiting her kid. No kennels will take him as he turns into a mad dog as soon as he sees a place like that. I just keep throwing him treats and he is happy not eating me.
I am thinking about taking the control unit for my top out and resoldering the joints. It has been doing strange things recently and I sure dont want it to mess up during a quick summer monsoon. I also need to put the TT on the lift and pull off and clean the wheels.I hate stock Porsche pads. They have to be the worst pads I have ever used for brake dust

My son turns 7 this weekend...so we'll start things off right with Cars & Coffee in the morning and then camping at the lake with his cousins in the afternoon...watch out, boys and campfires!

I'll need to take the wife's car camping...she said, "make sure I drive your car while your gone if I need to..."

Also a neighbor just bought his first 911, an '86 Carrera (white, 109k)...so I'll be over there too.

Spent the day detailing the p-car in preparation for our club's Deutsch Marque concours Sunday in Vienna, Va. (the Porsche, BMW and Mercedes clubs combine for this annual event). Wash, clay bar, polish, wax, treat the leather interior, clean the glass (twice so far!), take a toothbrush and soft brush to all the nooks & crannies... whew! I'm beat.
