Default Zymol + Rennsport = Seriously Glossy!

Steve W of Rennsport dropped by ( I am fortunate that I live down the road from Steve) and he delivered a couple cases of Brad Penn, right to my door, and he also brought a great pair of Zymol products. Not the American Zymol stuff, but the honest to Hans German kind.

He showed me how to use the HD Cleanse, and the Creame wax. I have never seen my car look so good. Here's a shot of the engine lid... as the daylight was fading, but the sky was bright. Hard to tell it's even a black car no? Now I have shoulders like a tennis star, but its worth it.

yep, nothing like carnuba wax + elbow grease for a fantastic shine.

Agreed if time does not equal money (or you just have lots of time

I think many of the latest gen poly-based polish products and a good DA (Flex or Mags come to mind) give just as good a shine and leave plenty of time for a road trip or a brown pop or so.

That really looks fanastic! I may have to try that on my polar silver, although by nature I can never get the depth of finish you have.

Never heard a beer called a "brown pop".

Made me think of something entirely different and normally the end result of too many beers the night before.

Black does look amazing when it is freshly polished/waxed. Get yourself some quick detailer spray and then you can keep the shine topped up for minimal effort.

IMHO Zymol is the best on single stage paint. Very nice!

Agree, but have found (after using it on current & previous whip) longest lasting finish was with Collinite (outstanding finish esp. on metallics which are clearcoated)

I use Rejex on my DD 996 and as long as even the smell of soap stays away, it last forever!

hand applied? did you try a mild buffing tool, or is it best not to with Z?

I was on the full works Zaino for abt 2 years, but nothing comes close to the SwissVax Crystal Rock for shine. I don't do it myself now, and get the detailers to do it, but it works.

The brilliant black A6's bonnet on SwissVax Mystery, which has less carnuba than Crystal Rock:

Never seen any polymer-based stuff do it like this.

That's all hand baby...
Actually for this go around I avoided the machine... though I do wonder if the cleaning stage could use a tool. I have the Griot's Random Orbital, and I like how it works on large panels.

In this case I followed Steve's instructions exactly. Use the cleaner in straight strokes only, and then apply the wax to small areas, with the fingers and the palm (heat of the hand helps the wax spread, and you get to feel for how the wax is going on) and don't let it dry. Buff quickly, and boom.
