GOOD 964 THREAD ON EARLY 911S REGISTRY
Check out the 964 thread going on over at the Early 911S Registry.
It's in the "Off Topic" section of the discussion forums and is titled
90s R Gruppe 911. Sorry I don't know how to post a direct link.
Hopefully, someone else can. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, that was a great read! Very good insight from guys who have seen various gen. 911s come in and out of favor. Really any 911 is good, they are all special.
Funny, the 964 is my first 911. I wanted a longhood, but couldn't afford the right one so I bought a 964 instead. Plus I need A/C and the 964 is better/safer for hauling my kids around. Now that I've owned the car for a couple years, I now know I don't need to be envious of any other 911. The 964 is really an amazing car, the secret is out (again)!
P.S. One of the posts mentioned that the 964 could be a potential R-Gruppe candidate? I strongly concur!

There are a lot of compromises with the early cars, when viewed through the prism of today's world. Gib calls it correctly. I don't know him much at all, but our one mutual friend (who I built one of the world's most accurate RS replicas for in the late '80's) mentions him frequently on various topics.
Even though I still have the RSA just because it's not depreciating, and I have a place to park it and forget about it, if life ever dictated I could only have a single ~$20K 911 this is certainly what I would keep to work well both on track and street.

Dang, the cats out of the bag now. Well good thing is the prices of our secret found treasures might go through the roof...
Funny it took so long for people to finally come around. I've known the 964 was the deal of the century since the late 90's...

Thanks for the link to this thread. Being a long time Early S poster, I can't believe I had not seen it before. But I'm one of the long-hood to 964 converts, and I guess I spend a lot more time here these days learning about my new car.
