Default Good testament to Porsche engineering!

Well 20 years old and the Porka sailed through another UK MOT test this morning. Not only that, but for the second year running (in my ownership), not a single advisory note!

Amazing what you guys have to go through to stay on the road. When I pulled the RSA out of two years of non-street use a year ago, all I needed was a smog certificate and proof of insurance.

Mine only had to pass the "altarch" test the other day, after 8 months on blocks! Well, there was the state inspeection, but the guy never even got into the car. I ran the lights for him, I guess he trusted from the look of the car that the steering and brakes were good, and we don't have emissions testing here.....yet.

You guys in CA just keep passing laws, then come to Texas to escape them. Now I hear we're going to get to drill for oil off our coast, but not in CA? (Just a little good natured chiding here, nothing personal or too serious.)

Uh, back to Porsches, nice photo! Is that Midnight Blue?

After the Santa Barbara spill in '69 there will never, ever, ever, ever be new drilling off the CA coast. Ever. I think a few barrels worth still leak up daily.

I took my car in for its safety sticker inspection out in Hawaii .
They told me to park it in a spot , I did , then they told me to go wait in the waiting room .
I went inside the waiting room a stood at the window watching my car .
I waited and waited , no one went near my car , then a guy came in and said my car past all the tests .

When oil is $500. a barrel ?
It ain't gunna stay down there forever , imho .
If we have to run the drill sideways out from on land ...

Living here, you should know better. How many times (but not so recently) have you heard of them wanting to horizontally drill? Anyway, at $500/bbl all the other technologies, even at today's prices, would make good ol' crude obsolete.

Had mine for 7 1/2 years and never ever had an advisory on the MOT - sails through first time! (Probably tempting fate saying that now). I think it is testament to how well built the cars are. Completely overengineered!

Indycam, did they charge you much for that thorough inspection?

Bluey964, 7 1/2 years without an advisory, wow! I think you're right about the over engineering - great for us though hey! Let's hope we're not tempting fate.

Cheers all
