***Spacer size for my 964 with 10j ET59???????
Hi guys, was speaking to Mike (Dr Knaff) from Germany about running Speedline 3 piece rims that are 10Jx18 on rear with Et59. And he says I need to use adaptor/spacers for clearance on rear, is this right?
If so, he recommends 22mm adaptor spacer on rear, but I hae just checked the Porsche specialist stock them but in 21mm and 23mm.
Please advice and correct me if he or myself is wrong on the tech info.
I am running a 964 C4 with standard arches with no roll, would appreciate some info.
thanks
Norm

Norm,
A 10J wheel works best on a NB 964 with an offset of something around 47mm, so your ET59 (unusual number!!) wheel would be best with a spacer of 59 - 47 = 12mm. Much more than 12mm will get closer to the bodywork and risk touching under compression.
Regards
Dave

I have 18x10j 65 on the rear, and played with spacers, ultimately 21MM was best = 44MM net offset, dave calls it right somewhere between 45-50MM...15MM is a stock spacer size...

Thanks guys!
Was looking at the size of spacers/adaptors available for sale, and there mainly 15mm.
Dave I did work it out today and yes ideally 12mm spacer would be best, at the minute I am running a 10j with an ET of 47, a 12mm will I think run a similar setup now.
Obviously you guys will disagree to a Euro-German tire stretch of 255/35 on a 10J, but the clearance would be better even when running a 15mm, yes or no?
Please correct me or your views please.
thanks
Norm
This below shows a 255/35/18 with a 10J running on a ET47 rear, which I am happy with, and want the new wheels with Et59 10j to fit with the right spacer.

with et 47 it looks to neatly and that is not what you want i know for sure!
if i was you i would go for adapters of 20 mm from H&R than you,ve got the FAT look you want!
on the other hand with et47 you can go with that tire size extremely LOWWWWW
doesn,t one of your friends have a extra pair of adapter lying somewhere around in the garage? so you can try out, what look you like!
i,ve got a pair extra but i live on the other side of the canal
good luck bro
