there certainly is a lot of mis-information out there on this suspension setup. I've just ordered bilstein hd's and H&R springs for my 1990 C2. Shox.com could not tell me if they required external bump stops so I called bilstein (California) and was told that both the front and rear hd's have bumpstops built in. Funny thing is, the guy was't too convincing - he sounded as if he really didn't know. Strange that this information is readily available.

I cannot find boots (dust covers) for the rear shocks anywhere. The guy at bilstein said they aren't needed.

The stuff hasn't been delivered yet. Shox.com at first said the stuff would ship next day, now I'm told the left front strut is backordered at bilstein and will not ship until next week. Disappointing.

I wish someone out there was more definitve about these suspension components.

When I installed mine I ordered the stock Porsche dust boot and bumpstops from Sunset Porsche and installed them on the struts. I cut the bumpstop to make up for lower suspension settings I am using (european RS spec).

Currently facing this issue. Rear Bilstein shocks didn’t ship with boots or bumps. Do I need to locate some and buy?
Thanks!
