Familytime - 964 style
Had an exceptional Saturday. The kind of "Porsche-fun day" you need to have every once in a while... made even better when some most P-car experiences can be shared with the whole family...
Cars and Coffee in the morning. Errands with the family in the afternoon. My son had a capoeira practice in the afternoon, note the picture of my wife grading papers in the parking lot while my daughter naps in the back! Then a great hwy cruise to visit friends for dinner.

I miss my son, who is now 35, and our weekends in the garage and driveway working on the early Porsches. He was never as interested as I hoped he would be. Closest he got was animating the Porsche in Disney's "Cars". The cars were more my hobby than his, the same as it was with me and my Dad, who enjoyed raising and riding horses. I hope someday my son will take more of an interest in cars, as I did later in life with my Dad's hobby. When I was younger, I never dreamed I would own 4 horses.
I also miss the girls, who are older now too. My son and I totally restored my first Porsche, a Speed Yellow 924, and gave it to my oldest Daughter the summer before her Senior year. We did the same with a CJ 7 for my 2nd Daughter. I loved to see those kids smile when they drove those cars.
What a beautiful family you have and it's heartwarming to see you all enjoying the Porsche. When you get nearer the end than the beginning, you'll appreciate even more how those well adjusted kids who make a solid contribution to society are all that matters.
Here's to many more of those great times!

Now That's a nice scene.
Congrats on you two for doing things right by those two.
An hour of TV will long be forgotten when these stories will still be being recounted by them for years.
And for short-notice duty, what kid would ever NOT put a 911 as The car to be seen in when being driven up to school?

I love that my daughter is old enough to ride in the car, and that she falls asleep in it on longer trips. My newborn will mean it's not a family car again until next summer But my oldest son will be 18 this April and he still enjoys the car. Going to take him to Concour viewing at Parade this year.

Great family pics!
I grew up in a car family - going everywhere in our antique car (Model T's, A's, Studebaker, Franklin, Packard, ...)
And then, having fun with our 3 boys in the antiques (the back seat of a Model A seemed to magically put them to sleep) and later in the hot rods.
Now they are all grown up (well, that is a relative term... I'm not grown up yet). But we still use the cars as an excuse to do something together. Not enough room for us all to pile in the Porsche to go for ice cream, so I can't wait to get the big Packard on the road. Now we have two grandsons, who we need to introduce to the life of cars.
And, working together on a car is the perfect time to bring up those serious subjects in life, that seem awkward to bring up any other time.

Sarah is the reason the 911 was swapped for the 964. She digs it and yells "por-sha" when she hears the flat 6 crank up.

I love hearing the family stories, keep sharing!
Great brochure pic Blueheeler... hummmmm, a poster-sized print of that in the garage would be cool!

A few pics of the wife and the car.
Yes, that is her foot sticking out of the car after around 5 go arounds on the Dragon (shot was in Tennessee waiting for the folks enroute up to Maine)
The other is the rare occasion that she drives the beast (self imposed by her, she keeps thinking she is going to break it or something )
Love the family shots....I plan on tracking the C4 only.....I guess I will just have to get another 964

Great pics and stories. Here is my 17 yr old daughter driving my P car. Her first time driving a stick. She did great! She couldn't believe I asked her to drive it. We'll have to work on her hand position though. That is her classic 5 behind me in the driveway.
