Default dead battery

So I didnt start my car for 10 days; when I did the dash lights came on but not enough juice to turn it over. I jumped it, it started, drove it, and it started this morning.
The last time I drove it after I shut it off I heard a small motor still going from somewhere under the dash above the climate controls. Hmm?

First verify that your battery is good. Assuming it is, then you should measure the current draw with the car turned off. It should be between 40-60 milliamps. It will eventually run a good battery down, so I keep a battery maintainer on mine when they are parked.

Thanks for the info.
If the battery turns out to be bad, is there a something unique to changing it? I've heard about some sort of "Bosch Hammer" or something?
Also, forgive my ignorance, but what/how do I measure the current draw?

Use a voltmeter with the ampere function on it and put it in series between the battery and the battery connector.

Remember, to measure current, amperes, you break the connection and insert the measuring device between the two parts you disconnected

there is nothing unique about changing the battery. Same as every other vehicle. Clean all the battery connections while you're at it.
