+1.

The 964 has a shape that can easily pull-off a color like that. I have a couple hundred gigabytes of Porsche pictures and I'm amazed at how nice the 911 silhouette looks in so many different colors.

This is definitely a more sophisticated color. I'm not sure if the pictures below are "exactly" the same...

I'll guess we have the highest gay Porsche ownership out here (not that you really can tell), and what have ALWAYS been the predominate colors? Silver and Black. And of course red in the '80's.

I guess we do race and love it post 911. Will be better at 964. lol
I love some of the different colors, but some just date themselves so much and think about resale. Yes I know someone will say they don't buy to resell and they don't care blah blah blah.

I like the standard colors in cars and in everything else and there is a reason why black silver white red etc are offered in every car and for as long as cars have been made because they are timeless and make everything look good

That RSA is Turquoise Metallic and the only RSA ever painted that color, the code is 35X. I had perhaps the only 993 (at least that I could ever find mention of) painted (to sample) in this shade as well. Wimbeldon in person has more of a greenish tint vs. Turquoise which has a blueish tint. In photos they appear virtually the same but in reality are very different. Personally I like both, and always have dug odd ball colors. When I sold the Turquoise car and when I sold a Vesuivo 996 C4 I had the colors were what sealed the deals both times. Lots of us want unique. If you can come to an acceptable price go for it. You will get more compliments then you can imagine. If you have a run of the mill Guards Red,Black,or Silver...people are more openly hostile and automatically think your a di*k. Other odd ball color owners know exactly what I mean. That car most definately appears to be a Euro. Make sure everything is fully US legal.

My first Porsche was a Turquoise metallic over tan 964, I did not seek out such a color but it did grow on me after awhile. I think I like the Wimbeldon Green better than Turquoise. Here is my old 964;

. Beautiful car.Never seen a Porsche I did not like...However a friend of mine who has a hard time spelling the brand...thought unfavorably of the green color on my RS. Go figure.

Color if a funny thing, and as many have mentioned is a personal choice. A similar color on a 987 Boxster was shown on another forum today and almost all said that they didn't like it. Personally, I like the oddball colors and the 964 seems to pull it off better than the newer body styles.

Here is a 987 on eBay in a similar color (no affiliation with the eBay car)

And a 996 cab (I think this is met. Turquoise)

I have a black car, and the color tends to hide the beautiful, complex curves. A metallic would tend to highlight those. I really like the color that NinetyOneC2 and Porscheholic have, as they're metallic, but subtle.

Nothing makes a statement like a true sportscar that isn't black or red. Like a Ferrari that's brown... that's class, as you don't NEED to show it off...

It is a matter of taste, but I love the 964s in crazy colors.

I think the original picture was taken in bad light and the colour does not look its best. In all the other shots I have to admit that its quite nice. Not what i would choose but quite a nice colour. Can you post your own pics after you go to see it?

Good luck,

I tend to agree these colors are not for everyone. I was a little hesitant about the Amethyst color when I first saw pictures of the car, but once I was able to see the car in person I was hooked! As raspberryroadster said, they are attention getters...

here is another color that plays tricks on the eyes,
Rumor is that there was one 911 painted this color for the 1987 Frankfurt auto show along with a 928S4 and a 924S.
This 928 is a copy of the 1987 show car that was made for the 10th anniversary of the 928.
There are 2 one in Germany and one in the US
I do apologize for posting another car model but since your all talking about colors I thought I would share.
the color is called Elfenbein Perlglanz ( ivory with pearl effect)
11H on the Glasurit paint page

Remember that the Safety color series of the early 911 used to be looked down on. But now, long-hood cars in Viper Green, Bahama Yellow or Tangerine (just a few among the many bright "70's" colors) are very desirable. This green may fit a trend of cool, authentic colors just a few years down the road.
