Default Disconnecting airbag from steering wheel?

Gents, I presently have the airbag dismounted from the steering wheel. Can anyone tell me where to disconnect the wiring harness from? It doesn't appear to disconnect from inside the steering column. The wiring harness goes directly to the back of the air bag and has a red connector. I'd be grateful for any hints.

It's in the center console and it disconnects both airbags. I believe joey bagadonuts had a how-to thread on it a while ago. You can get a bypass plug with a 928 part number I believe, but it's pricey. Or you can cut and splice the wires, but make sure you leave enough on both ends to put it back together one day if you so desire. You disconnected the battery before taking the air bag out, right?

Thanks for the advise and thread Ilko, I did disconnect the battery for 2 hrs just to be on the safe side. I also disconnected the plug in the console. Waiting for the bridge plug to come in from my parts guy. Now comes the fun part of mounting the Momo steering wheel.

Thanks again for the help as usual,

Dan

I believe that horn contact is mentioned in the thread above. And yes, it is crucial to get it in order to have a working horn button.

Installing the Momo wheel was fun, I remember wrapping a .5L plastic water bottle with some 200 grit sand paper and widening the hole in the steering column trim pieces. That was fun...

But once the wheel is in, you'll never want to go back to stock! What a great feel it has, I miss it!

Thanks Gaz, I ordered part number 964.652.104.00 for the horn with new trim pieces from a non air bag car. Should have the parts this Wed. to finish up this project. I hope...

Ilko, I'm really looking forward to the new wheel and getting rid of the bus wheel.
