Checking Tiptronic ATF levels

Right. As agreed, I added more ATF to the transmission via the 'fast fill'
connection. I used a hose, as before, and gently squeezed in another half
a litre or so.
This time I deliberately went over the 80°c MAX line (with the engine off)
so that when it was running it would be above the 30°c MIN line.
However, as I removed the filling hose the fluid flowed back down the
'fast fill' connection tube. I had read that this connection contains a
non-return valve, but obviously it doesn't (see my diagram attached).
Therefore, I can only assume you are meant to fill it like most other
transmissions i.e. until it's level with the entry hole. At this level it is very
close to the Porsche revised MAX level (slightly above the 80°c MAX line
on the gauge).
I took it for a test drive (about 100 miles), then checked under the car to
see the level. With the engine idling the level is only just above the 30°c MIN
mark. Despite having driven for nearly 2 hours the sump was luke warm to
the touch and nowhere near the 80°c which is often referred to. Ambient air
temperature was cold - about 2°c.

ATF check
Yesterday i checked my ATF level when the car was cold, not running, in Park and level. The level shows as per the first photo.
Today i drove the car for an hour, the engine was up to full operating temperature, ambient temp was 25C.
When the car is running, in Park and level the ATF level was showing as per the second photo.
I topped it up with approx 1.5L and let the car idle for several minutes (temp gauge was showing 180 deg F) and the ATF level was approx 10mm above the MAX mark while running and in Park. I had no issues with the non return valve at all.
The tiptronic is noticably smoother shifting now.

Also.........
Having checked Adrian Streathers book on ATF levels i quote from page 89:
Set transmission selector lever to P or N. Start engine and allow to idle.
Inspect ATF level indicator on right side of transmission:
A - MAX at operating temperature (80C/176F)
B - MIN at operating temperature (80C/176F)
C - Nominal level at 20C/68F
Interesting to note the "nominal" level and temp.
A, B & C refer to the level marks on the ATF indicator.

That's cool then Nick - we both get pretty much the same results.
I must have added a fraction more than you to cause the dribble of overflow.
Interesting about the 'nominal' level - must have missed that, I'll have another look in the book.

I'm guessing but the "nominal level" is probably the 30ºC mark when the engine is running, in Park and level but possibly not a warmed engine?
Either way i feel happier to have filled it correctly when hot etc even though it's almost impossible to figure out if the transmission is close to 80ºC or not without the Hammer tool.
I think this ATF fluid check method of Porsche's is plain stupid. The fill plug should be the level of ATF required when cold then it can't be overfilled and you keep filling until it flows out the filler plug.
If you have drained the ATF and changed the filter then you add, for example 8l of ATF, start the car in Park and run it for a few minutes to circulate ATF. Shut it down, wait several minutes for the ATF to settle then top up to the fill plug level.
No need for an additional complication such as a non return filler valve.

Perfect,I will check it again cold with engine stopped, buy I thing that it's correct, because I found a bill of 2008, and they repair the tube and the liquid, so..
Another thing,30º line is with COLD cold, but engine running no?
