Question Secret to getting the bottom door sill/skirt off

In an effort to get the bottom door sill/skirt off to find where the fuel leak was coming from I've broken five of the six clips that hold it on!

What's the secret to pulling this off as whilst not mega expensive it seems odd that they should break and that I need to spend £15 everytime I need to do it.

I couldn't see a nice gentle way of pulling it off.

(this was after taking the plastic nuts off the bottom and the screw at the front).

Fuel leak post in case you're interested or can help fuel leaking from flushing air pipe

Even if they don't break, the female parts are really single use only - they'll never grip as tightly again.

Really?

Darn - I've only ordered the male parts! I'll see how tightly they go in.

Cheers

To reach the carbon canister you need to remove the left side rear wheel and the plastic wheel well cover. Unfortunately (and too late now) you don't need to remove lower sill. I use to pop the plastic nuts with a large flat head screw driver.

OK, cheers for that, I'll take a look.

Not too late, I had to remove the bottom door sill anyway because that's where the petrol was dripping from.
