Wow Pete, that was great. Rally drivers are the best. Super footage, any worries about the current car not being exciting... watch that video. Literally over and over I couldn't believe how agile those cars are, just razor sharp steering. And the sound of a GT3 engine as it rushes past 8,000 rpm. A haunting noise from heaven.
I wish rally racing was huge in the States...

I agree, rally racing should be bigger here in the states. I know they do it a bit up in Oregon and Washington through SCCA, but I haven't heard much about on this side of the Rockies. I would be down in the old C4

Rally driving really brings out the best in a 911.
The direct, fast front end... the weight distribution sliding through turns. Vault-like shell, with suspension absorbing everything. Then the sound of the engines.
-I love a 964 idle (meaty, a bit lumpy... deep bass),
-an early car low to mid (induction through ITBs, immediate throttle response - that you can hear),
-and the GT3 haunting upper rush.
911s look so good flying around country roads... sideways.

Nice! These videos remind me of my childhood in France! Of course we did not own a Porsche back then:-(
Well you do now, so all is finally good.
Childhood in France... did you ever see a rally go through your town/village? Pictures?
I hope to one day connect a trip to Europe so that it would coincide with a major Porsche rally (like the videos we've been enjoying). That or a Ring trip...
