Default Happy Friday

well, it snowed last night; not much but enough to get icy in spots. I need a nice clean road so I can sufficiently warm up the car for an oil change.

Not much else going on.. less than 4 weeks until baby is due. Some of you may have caught my new avatar Got as few family sessions left as straggles want family pics done in time for Christmas cards.

Was hoping to trade some photography skills to a local powder coater and maybe get my wheels done over the winter. We'll see if that happens.

What about you??

Well I finally got to do a test fit of my new front spoiler and give the car a quick bath this afternoon. The fit isn't bad but it is certainly not perfect just yet so it needs some further attention. When the correct one finally arrived it turned out to be a TechArt piece which I had been after for a long time but had only found narrow body versions so that was an added bonus.

964 is still hiding in the garage from winter.

Turbo has had a bad week. I got it back last Friday after it had been at the dealer to investigate the dropping coolant - new radiator has hopefully fixed that (but it's been too dark in the mornings to monitor the level).

But it has misbehaved since then - Monday, as I pulled off the drive : offside front wheel speed sensor fault. It was very wet, so I guess I have an insulation problem.

Last night : brake pad wear warning (went off next time I started the car). Might be genuine - but I'm not convinced - when I got new tyres 2 weeks ago, I took a look at the pads and they all looked virtually new.

And this morning : Heated rear window wouldn't switch on - it finally did half way to work. So I guess I've probably got a sticking relay.

I'm sure my 964 is more reliable than this!

31 Deg here in PDX, so ice on the windows. I have my winter rims/tires on and we might get a dusting of snow this weekend. I am lucky to live in a place where I can drive my 964 year-round.
I had the car idling while I scraped the windshield (and my wife's car). I even love the cold morning burble while the car warms up... Kinda like a good cup of coffee on a cold morning.

That's a beautiful photo, Hawk. Too bad I can't talk my wife into another one...

Tentatively planned to do my valve adjustment this weekend. Just not sure I am mentally prepared - work has been a b*tch this week, and won't let go. I need to get my winter tires mounted on the spare set of wheels. I haven't driven the 964 for the past few days because of precipitation and sub-freezing temperatures - just don't want to take any risks given my record. So I have shown up at work in every other vehicle I own - wife's Acura RL, her old Accord, and the trusty Previa. The people I work with (and especially the ones in Japan and Ireland) don't understand why and how I own 8 or 9 cars (can't remember exactly...)
I have a bit of a slow cold starter problem (hopefully just a cleaning of terminals and ground) and a wants-to-die-on-startup-because-the-idle-control-valve-doesn't-respond-quick-enough problem. Idles fine all other times. Probably just a good cleaning will cure. My only slight concern it that is has something to do with the use of the SW chip (which is Great the rest of the time).
Have a great weekend,

Nothing special for me. On Saturday, I will be hanging christmas lights in the trees and front porch. All the neighbors in my area put white lights in the trees. At night, its very pretty seeing the entire street light with lights.

Not sure what else. We may get our first snow Sat night which will mean putting away the 964's for the winter. Not looking forward to driving the Honda but I am looking forward to getting some winter projects started.

I have been super busy at work this week. We released a new web application and got our user feedback. Web users are a funny bunch. I thought a text field like “Employee Start Date” would be fairly self explanatory. No so.

No real plans for the weekend. Chores around the house and dog sitting my friend’s hell hound. It might snow a little Sat and Sunday. Time for some C4-wheelin'!

Women of 964 thread?

I think it is going to have to be wives, girlfriends, and mistresses of guys that own 964s. The total number of women 964 owners seems to be about 4.

Not sure why that is.

We can start one, but its too cold for me to talk my model into much until Springtime, or I need a heated garage.
